Airbnb cleaning checklist
A turnover checklist that works for most holiday lets. Print it, tick it by hand, or copy it into StayOps and edit it for each property.
Arrival and first look
- Photograph the property as you found it (damage, stains, left items)
- Open windows to air the property
- Check for guest belongings and report them to the host
- Note anything broken or missing
Bedrooms
- Strip all beds, bag used linen
- Check mattress protectors and pillows for stains
- Make beds with fresh linen, corners tight
- Dust surfaces, headboards and lamps
- Check under beds and inside wardrobes and drawers
- Empty bins, wipe handles and light switches
Bathrooms
- Disinfect toilet: bowl, seat, base and handle
- Scrub shower, bath and screen, clear the drain of hair
- Clean basin, taps and mirror until streak free
- Replace towels, bath mat and hand towel
- Restock toilet paper, soap and shampoo
- Mop the floor, empty the bin
Kitchen and dining
- Run or empty the dishwasher, put everything away
- Wipe worktops, hob, oven front and microwave inside
- Clean sink and taps, check the plughole
- Empty and wipe the fridge, remove old food
- Check cupboards for crumbs and missing items
- Restock tea, coffee, washing-up liquid and sponge
- Take out rubbish and recycling, replace liners
Living areas
- Plump cushions, check the sofa for stains
- Dust shelves, TV and surfaces
- Wipe remote controls, door handles and light switches
- Vacuum floors and rugs, mop hard floors
Before you leave
- Check heating, lights and windows
- Put the key or lockbox code back as agreed
- Take final photos of each room as proof
- Lock up and tell the host the property is Ready
